Dropped $340 on a standing desk kit because of a video, and the frame wobbled from day one
The build guide made it look simple but I still burned $340 and a whole Sunday on a desk that shakes when the printer runs. Should've just bolted a top to the old kitchen table legs like my buddy in Dayton keeps telling me. Anyone got a bench frame under $200 that doesn't feel like a wet noodle?
Been there with a wobbly frame and it sucks. Check the leg tubing thickness before you buy anything, the cheap ones use like 1mm steel and that's the wet noodle feeling right there. Look for something in the 2mm range and cross braces on the bottom, that makes way more difference than the price tag. Also crank the feet down hard on a level floor and add a small rubber mat under the printer, a lot of the shake is the machine walking not just the frame. For under $200 you're mostly looking at used office frames on marketplace or a Husky workbench top with separate legs bolted on. Your buddy in Dayton is not wrong either, a solid top on good legs beats most kits at that price.
