Can we talk about that chat with my plumber that made me rethink all my bathroom layouts?

I was talking to this older plumber named Dave while he was fixing a leak under my sink last Tuesday. He said something like 'why put the shower valve where you gotta reach around the door, put it where you dry off instead.' I mean, it sounds simple but it totally shifted how I think about flow in a small bathroom. Has anyone else had a random pro say something that stuck with you way more than you expected?

That Dave guy was onto something real. Maybe it's just me but I think a lot of pros just have this gut-level understanding of how people actually move through a space, not just what looks good on paper. Makes you wonder how many little habits we accept without ever asking if there's a smarter way to do it.

And the thing nobody talks about is how that gut-level understanding gets passed down in the first place. You watch old carpenters or masons who learned on the job, they'll show you tricks that don't exist in any textbook but save you ten minutes every time. Makes you wonder how many of those small, time-tested habits are slowly dying out because we're too focused on the latest software or tool instead of just watching somebody who's been doing it for 30 years.
