Bought a $6,000 zero turn mower in Franklin and skipped my pre-delivery checklist
Picked it up 3 weeks ago from a dealer in Franklin and drove it straight to a job without checking the hydraulic fluid. Blew a seal on the second day, and the mechanic told me it would have been caught in 30 seconds with a walk around. Now I do a full fluid and bolt check on every new machine before it touches a job. What do you guys check first when new equipment shows up on site?
Man that stings, a blown seal on day two of a brand new machine is brutal. Six grand and three weeks of downtime for something a quick walk around would've caught, that's a rough way to learn it. Kind of crazy the dealer didn't run through it with you before it left the lot either. I'd be checking fluids, blades, belts, and every bolt I can reach before it ever touches grass after that.
