A welder in Tulsa said my shop layout was backwards, and he was right
Last month a retired welder stopped by my garage in Tulsa and watched me trip over my own extension cord three times while I worked. He told me straight up that I had my table facing the wrong wall and that my grinder shelf was too low, so I was bending down a hundred times a day. I moved the table to face the door and raised the grinder shelf to chest height over that weekend. It cost me about $40 in brackets and two hours of work, but my back stopped hurting and I finish small jobs way faster now. Anyone else rebuild their whole shop after one comment from an old timer?
