Why does nobody talk about the electric bill jump after adding a home server setup

I added a small home server for backups and Plex last March, and my monthly electric bill went from $95 to $145 by June. Took me three months to realize it was pulling 180 watts 24/7. Anyone else get blindsided by hidden power costs like this?
