Used to buy lunch every single day at work, now I pack leftovers from dinner

Back in 2019 I was dropping like $12-15 a day at the deli near my office in Philly, easy $300 a month just on sandwiches. Started packing leftovers after my rent went up in 2021 and now I save about $250 a month and it barely takes any extra time since I just make a bigger portion at dinner. Anyone else shocked how fast those little daily buys add up when you actually run the numbers?

Wait, you were spending 300 bucks a month on sandwiches?

Totally feel you @zarak18, that number hit me hard too. It's wild how small daily habits can add up to hundreds without you even noticing. I had a similar shock when I looked at my coffee spending last year and realized I was blowing like 150 a month just on lattes. It's not about judging the choice, it's just that gut punch when you see the total staring back at you.
