The cash envelope system feels old school, but it saved me 3 years ago
I used to roll my eyes at my grandma for using cash envelopes, but after a rough patch in 2021, I gave it a shot. I put $400 a week for groceries and fun money, and once the envelope was empty, I just stopped spending. It sounds dumb, but seeing the bills shrink in my hands made me way more careful than any app ever did. Has anyone else gone back to paper after trying all the fancy budgeting tools? I feel like I discovered something people my age missed.
