That week my grocery budget survived a cake emergency

Last Tuesday my kid dropped a whole sheet cake on the floor right before his birthday party. I panicked and ran to the store, grabbed a $12 replacement, and then noticed the clearance rack had my usual coffee brand for 60% off. I bought three bags and it basically cancelled out the cake cost. The weird part is the store double-charged me for the coffee and I caught it at the door, so I got a $5 refund on top of that. Has anyone else had a random expense turn into a net win like that?
