Shoutout to the dollar store envelopes that fixed my whole budget system
I kept trying fancy apps to track my spending and always quit by day three, so in January I gave up and went back to the old cash envelope thing with cheap envelopes from the dollar store on 5th. I was sure it was too simple to work, but here I am 4 months later and I've actually got $600 sitting in savings for the first time since forever. The weird part is carrying real cash hurts more than tapping a card, so I think twice about a $7 sandwich now. Anyone else find that the low tech version of something beat the app every time?
