Question about those cheap air fryers at the discount store

I snagged a $20 air fryer at one of those random discount bins (you know, the ones next to the checkout). Figured it was worth a shot since I kept seeing people rave about how they save on electric vs using the oven. First week was great, made some crispy fries and chicken. But then the timer knob just stopped working. Like it spins but does nothing. Now I have to stand there and watch the clock. Did I get what I paid for here or is there a fix I'm not seeing? Anyone else deal with a burner appliance that kind of works but not really?
