PSA: My brother called his 'fun money' a 'joy fund' and it clicked.
He said 'budgeting for happiness makes the numbers feel less like a cage.' Anyone else have a better name for their personal spending category?

Wait you weren't budgeting for fun stuff before? My whole budget is built around my joy fund. It's the first line item. Rent, then tacos, then bills.

Right?? The second I started calling it a joy fund in my budget it was like a switch flipped. I used to just let my leftover money pile up and then feel guilty spending it on anything fun. Now I put 50 bucks away every paycheck for "joy stuff" and I actually look forward to seeing where it goes. Last month I used mine to get tacos and a new video game, zero guilt.
