Okay, I found a budgeting stat that actually shocked me
Honestly, I always thought skipping the daily coffee was the big money saver. Then I read a report from the CFPB that said the average person pays over $200 a year in late fees for just their credit cards. That's way more than my coffee habit. Has anyone else found a sneaky expense that was way bigger than they thought?

Check your bank's monthly service fees too.

Switched to a credit union years ago because my old bank charged $15 a month just to have an account. Most will waive the fee if you keep a minimum balance or set up direct deposit.

Wait, have you checked what your bank charges for just letting you keep your money there? @roberts.jesse is totally right about that. I found a random "account maintenance fee" on my old statement that was like twelve bucks a month. That adds up to almost one hundred and fifty dollars a year just for the privilege of having a debit card. It's wild how they hide these things.
