My sister finally talked me into a cash envelope system and I was SO wrong about it

I always thought cash envelopes were for people who couldn't handle a debit card. But my sister Sarah in Ohio used it for 6 months and kept telling me to try it. I finally gave in last November and put $400 in envelopes for groceries, gas, and fun money. Turns out, seeing the cash physically LEAVE the envelope made me stop buying random snacks at the checkout. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize a system you judged actually works?
