My grocery budget dropped $40 after I started meal prepping with just a slow cooker

Tried batch cooking chili and chicken on Sunday for the week and somehow only spent $60 total at Aldi, has anyone else found one appliance cuts down impulse takeout that much?

Chili for 7 days straight" - see, you don't have to eat the same thing every day. I make a big batch of chili and then freeze half of it in single portions. Then I'll make pulled chicken later in the week and eat that for a few days. It's not all one meal.

Wait, are you counting the cost of the actual slow cooker or just the groceries? Because if you already had the appliance sitting in your cupboard then yeah, that $40 savings is real. But if you went out and bought a $30 Crock-Pot just to do this, then you're basically breaking even for the first week or two. Also curious how many days that chili actually lasted before you got sick of eating it.

Hate to break it to you but $60 at Aldi isn't that impressive, that's pretty standard for a single person for the week. Also chili for 7 days straight sounds like a quick way to hate life and cooking.
