My grocery bill went from $180 a week to $95 after I started meal planning on Sundays, the change in six months is wild.

Man that is HUGE savings. Sticking to a list is the real key, stops all those extra trips for one thing that turn into a whole cart. Makes a massive difference over time.

Totally, and it helps to eat before you go shopping lol. Hungry me buys all the snacks.

@lucasgarcia is right about the snacking thing but I gotta push back a little on the eating before you go part. Eating a full meal before shopping can actually backfire sometimes because your body starts craving more food later in the day anyway. What really works for me is bringing a small snack like a granola bar or an apple and eating it halfway through the trip. That way you don't get that hunger spike that makes you grab everything in sight. Also drinking water helps since thirst can trick you into thinking you're hungry. The list is still the MVP though, that's what actually saves the money.
