My grocery bill dropped $40 a week after I started meal planning around sale flyers

I started doing it six months ago after my neighbor Judy showed me her system, and now I actually look forward to Wednesday when the new ads come out, has anyone else found a rhythm that just clicks after a few tries?

Thats exactly how it went for me too. Judy sounds like a lifesaver, my aunt Carol showed me her binder system with all the store apps and I felt like an idiot for not doing it sooner. It took me a good three months of trial and error before I stopped overbuying just because something was on sale. Now I get a little thrill when I see my cart total at the register way lower than what I expected. Grocery prices have been so crazy lately, any little win feels huge. How do you handle the weeks where the sales are just awful and nothing good is on the flyer?

That trial and error period is so real, those bad sale weeks I just stick to basics like beans and rice and call it a reset week.
