My $7 spreadsheet ended a 4 year subscription cycle
Last month I finally sat down and counted every single subscription I had, from streaming to apps to that obscure cloud storage I forgot about. It was 14 total and they added up to $212 a month, which honestly made me feel sick. So I spent an afternoon building a simple Google Sheet with each service, the cost, and when I last actually used it. Turns out I hadn't opened half of them in over 3 months, and the other half had cheaper annual options. I cancelled 8 of them right there, which saved me $94 monthly, and then I switched my two most used ones to yearly plans for another $18 off per month. That's over $1,300 a year in savings from just one boring afternoon, and I'm actually excited to check my bank statement now. Has anyone else done a full subscription audit and found something you were paying for since like 2018? What did you cut that you thought you absolutely needed?

Used to think subscription audits were for people with zero self control. Like, just cancel stuff when you see it, right? But then I found a music service I signed up for in 2018 for a free trial. Never used it after the trial ended. Four years of $9.99 every month. That's almost $500 gone. Your spreadsheet thing actually makes sense now. People don't realize how much small stuff adds up until they see it all in one list.
