My $40 cash envelope system beat a $90 budgeting app in 3 months
I used YNAB for 3 months and still overspent, but switching to plain envelopes with cash on the 1st of each month in Columbus cut my grocery bill by $60 and has anyone else found physical money just hits different?

My sister tried the same thing in Austin with her coffee budget, went from $80 a month on apps to $30 cash, and suddenly she actually felt the money leaving her hand. Physical cash makes you pause, that's the whole trick, apps just turn numbers into noise. It's like every purchase becomes a tiny decision instead of a swipe.
