Just realized my old 'envelope cash' system was a total waste of time
Honestly, I used to do the whole physical cash in envelopes thing for my groceries and fun money. Ngl, it was a pain to get cash and I'd forget which envelope was for what. I switched to using the Ally bank buckets feature for the same categories and saved like $60 last month just from not making impulse buys at Target because the 'cash was right there'. Has anyone else made a switch from a physical system to a digital one and seen real results?

I get the digital appeal but @emma_ramirez, for me, handing over real cash makes the spending feel more real.

Remember when I tried cash envelopes and ended up with a purse full of loose receipts and guilt? My digital budget app just shames me silently, which is way more efficient.

$40 went missing from my cash envelope system in one month and I never found it, @emma_ramirez. Digital apps may shame us but at least they don't let cash slip through a hole in your bag or get eaten by your washing machine. That silent judgment is way cheaper than the therapy I needed after losing that forty bucks.
