Just lost $400 signing up for a meal kit service I barely used

I forgot to cancel that HelloFresh subscription after the first week and now I'm stuck with three rotting boxes of kale and ginger I never touched, has anyone else gotten burned by those trial offers?

Blame the company all you want but it's really your own fault for not setting a reminder or putting a note on your calendar. These services literally make their money off people like you who forget to cancel after the free trial... it's not a secret. $400 is rough but honestly you could have fixed this with a simple phone call or a 30 second cancellation on their website. The kale and ginger thing is funny though, but still... you signed up knowing it was a subscription model. Next time just write the cancellation date on your fridge or something.
