Got told my grocery budget was delusional, so I actually tracked it
My sister laughed at me when I said I spend $75 a week on food for two people. She called me out and said there's no way that's real. So I downloaded a free tracker and logged every single receipt for three weeks. Turns out I was averaging $112 a week, not $75. Has anyone else had their budget blown up by actually checking the numbers?

Oh wow, that's actually pretty eye-opening! I think the $75 number sounds really low for two people, especially with how prices have gone up lately. But I get how easy it is to underestimate, you know, when you're not actually writing it down. The real number you got ($112) is way more realistic, and honestly still pretty good for two people. I bet your sister was trying to be helpful (even if she came off a bit harsh) and now you've got solid proof of what's really going on. Makes me wonder what I'd find if I tracked my own spending that closely - I'm a little scared to look, to be honest.

Stick with tracking it for a full month, see if those numbers stay consistent or if there's any random weeks where it jumps up more. Did you notice any specific meals that kept pushing the cost up higher than you expected, like meat or eating out, or was it all just small stuff adding up? I bet you'd be surprised by what you find if you try it for even a week, kinda like a budget wake-up call lmao.
