Got scammed by a $40 meal prep service that was just a spreadsheet
I thought I was being smart signing up for this cheap meal prep planner subscription that promised to save me money on groceries. Paid $40 for a month access thinking I'd get actual recipes and ingredient lists. Turned out it was literally just a Google Sheet with links to random blog recipes and a calculator to estimate costs. I tried using it for two weeks and every single meal cost more than if I just shopped my usual store sales. The sheet had broken links and the calorie counts were way off compared to what I cooked. I ended up wasting about $60 on extra groceries because the portions were wrong. Has anyone else fallen for a service that turned out to be just a template someone threw together in an afternoon?

Ngl, the broken links part really got me. That's just pure laziness if you're charging people real money for something you threw together. Honestly, a spreadsheet that doesn't even work properly is insulting. Tbh, I've seen better free stuff on Reddit than what you described there.

That "insulting" part is exactly what I read in a tech blog about these template resellers flooding the market lately.
