Figured out I was overpaying for car insurance by $80 a month for 2 years
I was just renewing my policy like always when my buddy mentioned he switched insurers and saved a bunch. I pulled my old declarations page and realized I'd been paying for rental car coverage and roadside assistance I never used. Anyone else just set insurance on autopilot and forget to shop around?

Idk, maybe it's just me but I kinda feel like insurance companies are betting on people not checking. I mean, it's not like they're gonna call you up and say "hey you're overpaying." That said, I've always checked my coverage every year because I had a friend who totaled his car and found out his rental coverage had lapsed somehow. So while I get the frustration, I think a lot of it is on us to just look at the bill once in a while. It's like a five minute thing to just scan the page and see what you're paying for.

Yeah, you're right. That actually changed my mind.
