Coworker told me my lunch budget was insane so I actually tracked it
I was dropping $60 a week on takeout and didn't realize until a guy in accounting pointed it out. Started meal prepping Sunday nights and now I'm at $25 a week for lunches. Anyone else get a reality check from someone else's comment?

Used to think people who tracked every dollar they spent on food were just being cheap and annoying... then I accidentally did the math on my lunch habit and nearly choked. I was spending like $65 a week on sandwiches and salads I could have made in ten minutes. Now I batch cook on Sunday too and it's wild how much I was just throwing away without thinking. Someone calling you out can feel rude at first but sometimes it's the push you actually needed to stop wasting money like that.

Wait "$65 a week on sandwiches and salads"? That's over $260 a month just on lunch. I'm sitting here trying to remember how many times I've hit up the deli for a $12 turkey club and a bag of chips this month and I think I'm gonna be sick. I add up restaurant receipts sometimes but I always stop before I get to a number I don't want to see. You actually went through and added it all up. That's brave honestly. I might need to do that too but I'm scared of what I'll find.
