That 'free' hostel breakfast in Prague cost me $40

A backpacker in Prague told me to skip paid breakfast and just eat the free hostel spread. Got food poisoning from the eggs, spent two days in a pharmacy buying rehydration salts. Anyone else learned the hard way that 'free' isn't always cheap?
