Had a cheap Ziploc bag explode on me in Bangkok and lost my whole set of spare underwear
Was crossing the street near Khao San Road in a downpour and my bag split open sending my clean boxers flying into a sewer grate, so now I only use those heavy duty freezer bags for packing anything that needs to stay dry.

Dude, losing clean boxers to a sewer grate might be the universe telling you it's time to go commando through SE Asia." I've been there with the exploding bags though, learned the hard way that cheap Ziplocs are really just "hope bags" not actual protection.
