Found a $3 coffee trick in a hostel in Medellin
Honestly, I was staying at this hostel in Medellin last month and the kitchen had a French press and a stovetop espresso maker. I noticed they were just dumping the coffee grounds straight into the press without any filter paper. Tried it with the espresso maker grounds instead and it actually made a way smoother cup for basically free. No more paying $5 for pour-over at fancy cafes every morning. Anyone else pick up a random kitchen hack from a hostel?

Oh totally, I used to think the same way! But for me swapping to a good quality coffee and taking a few minutes to actually taste it made a huge difference. Now it's a little morning ritual instead of just a caffeine hit.
