Cheap flights at 3am beat the flexible date search every time

Everyone swears by the calendar grid for finding deals, but I picked a fixed date for Austin last March and got a $118 round trip by checking at 2:45am on a Tuesday. The flex search showed $220 for the same route, so I'll take the weird hours over the fancy tool any day. Anyone else had luck with off-peak searching times?

Did you try clearing your browser cookies or using a private window when you checked that late night? I got a similar deal last fall, booked a Denver trip at 4am on a Wednesday and it was $87 versus the $190 the flex tool kept showing for the same week. I think airlines reset their cheap seats around 2 to 4am, especially after weekends, and the calendar grid just never catches those drops in real time. It's honestly my go-to move now, set an alarm for the middle of the night when I'm really hunting a deal.
