Can we talk about my hostel booking in Prague that got canceled 12 hours before my flight?

I had to book a last-minute private room for $80 a night instead of my planned $20 dorm bed, so now I'm asking for your best emergency accommodation hacks when things fall apart.

My friend swears by silk liners cause they pack down to nothing. I still use my old cotton one from a thrift store.
