Unpopular opinion: Bulk spices at the regular grocery store are a waste of money

I used to buy those little jars of oregano and cumin for $4 each at the corner market. Last week I walked into a Mexican grocery store on Broadway and found the same spices in bags for $1.50. That’s when it hit me how much I was overpaying for packaging. Has anyone else found a cheaper spot for spices that changed how they cook?

Find an Asian grocery store too, they usually sell ginger and galangal fresh for pennies compared to the produce section.
