Rant: My grocery bill went from $120 to $75 a week after I stopped buying those pre-chopped veggies
I used to grab the little plastic tubs of diced onions and peppers because it saved time. Over the last two months, I switched to buying whole produce and doing the prep myself on Sunday. Has anyone else found a simple switch that saved a surprising amount?

Totally get that... the weird part for me is how much less trash I take out now. All those little plastic containers were filling up my bin every week. Now it's just some onion skins and pepper stems for the compost. Feels like I'm not just saving money, but also not contributing to that mountain of pointless packaging. Makes the extra ten minutes of chopping feel almost worthwhile.

Oh that reminds me of my neighbor! She switched to whole veggies last year and her trash can went from overflowing every pickup to barely half full. She told me she used to have a whole bag just for yogurt cups and salad clamshells. Now it's mostly coffee grounds and the odd bit of foil. She said it felt like a magic trick, watching her own trash just shrink.
