My freezer burned 3 bags of chicken thighs before I learned the trick

I kept tossing freezer-burned meat from my chest freezer in Des Moines until I started double wrapping everything with press and seal plus foil last month. Do you vacuum seal or is there a cheaper way to keep chicken good for more than 6 weeks?

Man that press and seal trick is a game changer, I swear. We had the same issue with a big chest freezer in our garage, kept finding mystery meat that tasted like the freezer itself. Vacuum sealers work great but they can eat up your budget, so I just do the double wrap and squeeze all the air out real tight, helps me stretch stuff to maybe 8 weeks but honestly I try to cook it by then anyway.

Feel you there, nothing worse than pulling out chicken that tastes like regret and frost.
