I finally broke my habit of buying pre-cut veggies every week
For like two years I spent about $20 a week on those pre-cut vegetable packs from the store. It was just easier (you know, no chopping) but I realized I was paying double what whole veggies cost. Last month I switched to buying whole carrots, onions, and bell peppers from the bulk bin at Aldi. Now I spend maybe $8 a week and just chop everything on Sunday while I watch a show. Does anyone else find that prepping ahead actually saves more time than buying the pre-cut stuff?

How much time does the Sunday chopping actually take you?

Rowanp15 asked about the Sunday chopping time, and it really depends on how much you're prepping and how organized you are. For me, it's usually around 45 minutes if I'm just doing veggies like onions, peppers, and carrots. But I noticed something bigger: that little block of time on Sunday actually saves me hours during the week because I'm not chopping every night when I'm tired. It shows how a tiny bit of planning can smooth out your whole week, like a domino effect. Rowanp15, I'd bet if you time yourself once, you'll realize it's way shorter than you think, and the payoff is huge.
