Finally calculated my actual grocery savings from meal prepping and nearly fell off my chair

So I got curious this weekend and actually added up the numbers from the last 3 months of meal prepping lunches. I was spending about $12 a day on takeout before, now it's like $3.50 per batch of chili or stir fry. The total? I saved roughly $280 over 3 months just from Sunday afternoon cooking sessions. Has anyone else done the math on their own budget meals and been shocked at the real difference?

Respectfully, I'd rather pay for convenience than spend my Sundays cooking.

Used to be all about the Sunday meal prep honestly. Thought I was saving money and being healthy. But then I started actually adding up the groceries and time spent chopping and cleaning. Realized a pre-made meal kit or just grabbing takeout from the place down the street costs almost the same after you factor in wasted ingredients and the hours I could spend relaxing. That frozen pizza and bagged salad wins every time now.

Meal kit waste is actually way less than most people think, you just pick portions better.
