Appreciation post: The guy at the Kroger in Dayton who told me to buy a whole chicken instead of breasts

I keep seeing people buy those expensive packs of boneless chicken breasts for their weekly meals. That guy showed me a whole bird costs about $7 and you can get three meals from it, plus stock. It feels like a basic thing, but a lot of folks seem to miss it. Anyone have other cuts of meat that are way cheaper if you just do a little extra work?
