Tried a 3D laser level for a curved brick wall, went back to string line after 2 hours

Had a job in Columbus last week, curved garden wall about 40 feet long. The builder insisted I use his fancy 3D laser level to set the curve. Spent 2 hours fiddling with tripod placement and the receiver, kept getting false readings from the sun. Pulled out my old string line and a template I cut from plywood, had the whole course laid out in 45 minutes. Lasers are great for straight runs and footings, but for a radius curve nothing beats a simple line and a good eye. Anyone else trust string over laser for tricky layouts?

That laser was junk on my curved retaining wall too, string and a chalk line beat it every time.
