Saw a guy at a job site in Phoenix use a wet sponge on his bricks instead of a jointer tool

I was working a residential wall last Tuesday and this old timer just wiped down his freshly laid bricks with a damp sponge, totally skipped the jointing step. The finish looked cleaner than anything I've ever done with a tool - has anyone else tried this method?

@leo_price yeah my buddy tried something similar and it actually fixed his issue somehow lol
