Pretty steep price for a lesson. Trademark searches are free to do.

Man I totally get where you're coming from but paying someone to walk you through the process saved me so much headache. The free searches are fine but they don't tell you if your mark is actually strong enough to protect. Learned that the hard way after filing something that got rejected instantly.
