The day I realized my whole brand palette was a lie
I spent 2 years picking colors I personally thought looked good for my small landscaping business logo. Then a client in Phoenix straight up told me my teal and orange combo made her think of a 1990s carpet store. That's when I finally looked up color psychology and realized brand colors aren't about what you like, they're about what triggers the right reaction in customers. Has anyone else had a client or customer totally wreck their confidence in a logo choice?

Oh man the 1990s carpet store comment hits hard, my teal and salmon logo got called a dentist office from a client once.

Gotta disagree about the teal and salmon being a dentist office thing though. Those colors were way more common in 90s beach rental places and souvenir shops, not dentist lobbies. Dentists back then were all about that mauve and forest green combo with maybe a touch of brass. Your logo probably just reminded that client of a bad filling or something personal, not an actual dental practice. Teal and salmon is honestly a bold move that I bet looked cooler than they gave you credit for.
