That retro wordmark I redrew from memory backfired hard
Found an old flyer from 2004 for a local bike shop in Portland. Loved their chunky, hand-lettered style. Decided to redraw it from memory for a friend's shop revival. Turns out my memory was way off, the spacing looked fine to me but everyone saw 'Shop' as 'Shop' with a weird tilt. Learned that nostalgia isn't a source file. Anyone else ruined a good memory by trying to recreate it from scratch?

Cringe so hard reading that you thought it looked fine and everyone else saw the tilt right away. That's the worst part, you stare at it so long your brain just gives up and locks in the wrong version. At least you caught it before slapping it on a storefront, that would've been a whole other level of pain.
