Saw a new coffee shop downtown with a logo that looks like a bootleg Starbucks

Either they're copying hard or it's a bold move for recognition. Does that actually work for new brands or just make people think you're fake?

That phrase "bootleg Starbucks" really hits the nail on the head. I think a lot of small shops try to copy the big chains' look because they think it'll make them seem more legit, but it usually backfires. People aren't dumb, they notice when something feels off and it just makes the place look like a cheap knockoff. If a new coffee shop does that, I'm more likely to walk right past it because I assume the coffee is just as generic. A bold logo that's actually original would grab my attention way more than something that reminds me of a Starbucks I can find anywhere.

Yeah that logo thing reminds me of this taco truck near my place that straight up ripped off the Taco Bell font, what were they thinking lol. Original stuff sticks in your head way longer than trying to look like something you're not.
