Just read that the original Starbucks siren logo had bare breasts

I was looking at a design history blog last night and found out the 1971 drawing showed her with a full double tail and exposed chest. They changed it in the 80s to be more family friendly, which makes total sense for a global brand now. Did any other major logos start out way more wild than we remember?

People forget how much design has changed over the decades. I remember reading about the original Apple logo too, that rainbow apple with the bite was actually way more complicated than the simple silver one they use now. @martin.tyler is right that these things get smoothed out over time for sure. The Starbucks one is a good example of a company deciding to go cleaner and less distracting for a wider audience. Even the old KFC logo with the Colonel's face was more cartoonish back in the day compared to the simplified version now. It's kind of wild to think all these big brands started off with rougher, more edgy designs that no one would greenlight today.

Nah, I see it differently. You might be reading too much into it, @the_cameron.
