I used to think a logo needed to be super complex to be good, but a simple coffee cup sketch from a client in Denver totally flipped that for me.

After seeing how their clean, single-line cup drawing became way more recognizable and versatile across their mugs and social media than my initial, overly detailed design with a full mountain scene inside it, I now always start with the simplest possible shape that captures the brand's core idea. Anyone else have a moment where a client's rough idea ended up being the perfect final logo?

A design book called that the best logos often work at the size of a postage stamp.

Yeah, that's a good test. I read something similar about how a logo should still be clear on a phone screen icon.

Used to be the same way actually. Always thought more detail meant more value until I saw how a simple logo just sticks in your head better and works everywhere. That postage stamp test is a REAL eye opener.
