I finally noticed why my local coffee shop's logo felt off for years

Stood in line at Brew & Grind on Grand Avenue last Friday and it hit me that their 2010 rebrand stretched the original hand-drawn mug into this weird oval shape. The kerning between 'brew' and 'grind' is also way too tight for the font they picked. Has anyone else spotted a local business logo that bugs them every time they visit?

The Brew & Grind logo has bugged me for years. That stretched mug looks like someone sat on it and the kerning makes it read like "brewandgrind" from across the street. It reminds me of the bagel shop near my place that put their font in all caps with no spacing between letters. Makes me feel like I'm shouting at the sign every time I walk past. You're definitely not alone here.

Try asking a local sign shop to fix the spacing, I did that with a coffee shop logo once and it looked way better.
