Guy at a print shop fixed my file in 30 seconds flat
Dropped off a logo for a small coffee shop in Portland last month. The file was a mess. Wrong color space, pixelated edges, fonts missing. The guy at the counter just sighed and said "hand it over." He rebuilt the whole thing in Illustrator right there. Charged me an extra 20 bucks. Best money I ever spent. Has anyone else had a printer save their bad file instead of just rejecting it?

Are small shops just nicer, @charlie_stone72?

Oh man, that's awesome! I mean, what exactly did they do to fix the pixelated edges? Like did they redraw the whole thing from scratch or just use some kind of auto-trace tool? I'm genuinely curious cause I've had printers just look at my messy files and tell me to come back when it's fixed.
And for real, twenty bucks is nothing compared to the headache of trying to fix it yourself if you don't know Illustrator. I'd pay that in a heartbeat. But yeah, was it a small print shop or one of those chain places? I feel like the smaller shops are way more likely to just roll up their sleeves and help you out instead of being all "we can't accept this.
