Can we talk about how I finally gave in on using grid templates
I was never a grid person for logos, thought it was too restrictive. But I had this client for a coffee shop in Denver who kept asking for tweaks and nothing looked balanced. After the 4th round of edits I tried a 12 column grid in Illustrator and suddenly everything snapped into place. The logo finally had the right spacing and hierarchy she wanted. Has anyone else resisted grids and then caved?

Tried defending my non-grid approach for years until I realized I was just making extra work for myself for NO good reason.

Grids are just a crutch for people who can't trust their eye. Real designers should be able to nail spacing without a training wheel template.
