Am I the only one who thinks the new Taco Bell logo looks like a knockoff from a gas station taco joint?

I was driving through Phoenix last Friday and saw the updated logo on a sign and it just felt off, like they flattened the whole thing and lost the punchy energy, but then my buddy said it looks cleaner and more modern, so which side are you on does it work or did they break it?

Remember that the old logo was actually a simplified version of the one from the 1990s, so they've been flattening and simplifying it for years now. This latest version just took that process a step further by removing the yellow background and making the bell shape more angular. I think it works fine for digital menus and app icons, which is probably what they were aiming for. But on a physical sign it does look a little cheap, like what you'd see at a small town burger stand. The old one had more character and stood out better from a distance on the highway.

Drove past one of their new signs last week and honestly thought it was a generic burger joint that took over the space. Had to do a double take. That old bell shape was so recognizable you could spot it from half a mile away on the highway. The new one just blends into all the other fast food signs now. If you're running a franchise and stuck with this logo, your best bet is to make sure the sign is lit up bright as hell at night. The cheap look gets hidden when the lights are on and you're just trying to catch people driving by. But during the day, yeah, it looks like someone printed a bell icon off a cheap menu template and called it a day.
