That time I watered my monstera with pickle juice by accident
I was grabbing a glass of water from the fridge last Tuesday and my husband had left a jar of pickle juice on the counter. I grabbed the wrong jar and dumped about half a cup into my monstera's pot before I noticed. The plant started drooping by that evening and the leaves got these weird yellow spots. I flushed the soil with fresh water for 3 days straight and repotted it in new mix on Friday. It finally bounced back after a week, but now it smells faintly of dill. Has anyone else accidentally watered their plants with something weird and had it actually survive?

Oh man, I actually heard about something kinda similar on a plant podcast. They said some people use pickle juice on purpose? Something about the vinegar helping with fungus gnats. But like, not that much, and not on a monstera. I guess the salt is what really messes them up. Glad yours pulled through though. That dill smell might just hang around for a while.

Nah, vinegar isn't gonna fix fungus gnats, that's just gonna make your soil salty and sad.
