That fiddle leaf fig looked dead for 8 months then doubled overnight
I got this fiddle leaf fig from a yard sale back in March for $5. It was already droopy and half the leaves had brown spots. I put it by my east window in the kitchen and just watered it when the soil felt dry. For like 8 months it did nothing. I mean nothing. Same sad look, no new leaves, I was about to toss it. Then last week I noticed a tiny new leaf at the top. Now it has 4 new ones and the old leaves perked up like crazy. I didn't change anything except I started wiping the leaves with a damp cloth once a week after I saw someone on here mention dust blocking light. Is that really all it was? Or do fiddle leafs just take forever to settle in and then go? Has anyone else had a plant sit there for months and then suddenly wake up?

Most things in life are like that plant, quiet then boom, all at once.
