Saw a guy at the local nursery mix his own potting soil

Was at Johnson's Greenhouse last Saturday. Some older guy was blending peat moss, perlite, and compost right in the parking lot. Asked him why he didn't just buy the bagged stuff. He said pre-made mixes hold too much water for succulents. Showed me his ratios - 2 parts pumice to 1 part coco coir. Tried it on my jade plant at home. Been three weeks and it's growing like crazy. Anyone else make their own soil blends?

Man I gotta try that pumice and coir mix. My jade has been looking sad lately.

Same, @grant569. Heard pumice really helps with drainage.
